The piece above is a small edition of only two. Small editions of two are rare and exciting since there are only two, once they are gone, they usually are brought back only with special request. This one is a Fine Art Giclee Canvas Reproduction of a painting created by L.A. Cline entitled, “Keeping Close”. The frame is a wooden frame with elaborate cut work in gold. The piece measures 14 1/2 X 16 1/2.
This pastel portrait was created capturing the mare and her foal together. It depicts the Mother and Baby’s relationship to one another. The Mother is supporting her three and a half week foal as he is having trouble balancing with his knobby knees.
Notice, that L.A. Cline was standing in the pen with the horses for the painting. Normally you see the fence in front of the horses. Both the Artist and the horses had to become comfortable with each other so the sketch for the painting could be created.
