“CHILDHOOD MEMORIES” Children’s Portrait Painting was commissioned to create and transform a 30-year-old, torn, water-damaged sepia photograph into a beautiful pastel painting with warm, muted colors. The subject, a grown man in his mid-30s, sought to preserve a cherished memory of himself and his brother as children.
In the original photograph, the boy in the yellow shirt had an asymmetrical pose, with his legs stretched far to the right. The composition was adjusted to position the legs in a more natural, childlike manner, creating symmetry in the new pastel Children’s Portrait Painting.
Due to the photograph’s faded condition, additional family pictures were referenced to accurately capture details. A muted color scheme replaced the original sepia tones, enhancing the memory with a warm, timeless vibrancy.
