“Keeping Close” Fine Art

“Keeping Close” is a captivating pastel painting that depicts the heartwarming bond between a three-week-old mare and her foal as they enjoy a carefree summer day together. The mare is seen running at a slow stride, ensuring that her young one can keep up and learn to run while staying close by her side. The foal follows closely, learning from its mother’s example and staying by her side.

The setting of the painting shows the horses standing inside a large pen, with the fence in the background. The size of the pen is comparable to half a football field, providing ample space for the horses to run and play. The artist has skillfully captured the majesty of these animals, allowing the viewer to feel a sense of awe and admiration for these magnificent creatures.

The artist’s attention to detail is evident in the portrayal of the mare’s protective nature, as she stops to rest when she notices her foal falling behind. The tender moment of the mare standing next to her tired foal is beautifully depicted, showcasing the deep bond between mother and child.

The use of pastels adds a softness and warmth to the painting, enhancing the emotional connection between the horses and the viewer. The title, “Keeping Close,” perfectly encapsulates the theme of the painting, emphasizing the importance of the strong bond between the mare and her foal.

Overall, “Keeping Close” is a breathtaking piece of fine art that captures the beauty of nature and the unbreakable bond between mother and child. It is evident that the artist has skillfully captured the moment of the mare and her foal, allowing the viewer to appreciate the wonder of these majestic animals in their natural environment.

It was exciting watching this new mare and her foal having a great summer day running free together. The mare ran at a slow stride so her baby could learn to run keeping close by her side “Keeping Close” to his mother. Once the mare saw her young one was falling slightly behind she stopped to rest.

If you notice I was standing inside the huge pen. The fence is behind the horses and the area inside was about the size of half a football field. “It was wonderful being so close to these majestic animals to sketch and paint them”. They ran all around the large pen for an hour “Keeping Close” to each other.  Once the foal tired Mom stood right next to her baby while I could finally sketch.

I am preparing to create this painting as a Fine Art Re-creation for you. If this work of art is something you would like I can create a special order for you.
