Description
Creating this “Two Sisters” Family Portrait Painting was a challenge because the older blonde sister was more petite than her younger dark hair sister so their pose was very important. Their Mother wanted a casual and playful portrait of her girls during their happy carefree child-hood days.
Even though they are sisters they look remarkable different the older of the two is the blonde girl on the right in the portrait pastel painting. This pose highlights the soft sweetness of the older sister who is slightly raised behind the ball while giving her pretty dark haired sister equal status just slightly lower than her older sister. In real life the younger sister was much taller than her older sister. Their placement of the girls was very important. Using the big rubber ball from their pool was a great prop to use for this “Two Sisters” Family Portrait Painting so both girls are equally important. This beautiful loving portrait was a gift for their Father.
If you are thinking of a portrait of your family I would be delighted to speak with you about your ideas.
