The NHL bestowed Florida Panther Right Wing, Pavel Bure, the prestigious Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy. This Trophy is awarded to the player finishing the regular season as the Leagues Goal Scoring leader. Pavel Bure scored an astounding 58 goals during his 1999-2000 season.
The Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy, a gift to the National Hockey League from the Montreal Canadians, honored of one of the games greatest stars. Tus his nick name The Russian Rocket.
This is the first of two pastel art paintings I created of Pavel Bure that were based on live games I attended from the 1999-2000 season. Both paintings were featured at Hockey Fest September 2000.
Pavel Bure autographed this original painting and the second original painting “In The Zone”, in the presence L.A. CLINE on the last home game before he went to the New York Rangers. This painting is a part of the Artist’s Collection.
