Description
These two squirrels traveling from tree to tree every day right outside the my art studio for about fifteen years. They were there every day as I was painting happily frolicking around the back area of my art studio.
“Two Squirrels in a Tree” painting captured them in their habitat with their personalities always alert and ready to react at a moment’s notice.
There are different techniques I used to create the squirrels fur and tail for this pastel painting. Their bodies are more of a stippling technique in which I applied many layers with short stokes. The tails are longer strokes also with many layers of pastel. Although the composition looks natural everything is the painting was created and placed in the painting. The background and position of the “Two Squirrels in a Tree” painting did not exist before this painting.
