“Blue Point Himalayan Cat”
Madison, the Blue Point Himalaya Cat, stood tall and regal after a thorough grooming session. His luxurious fur was perfectly groomed, showcasing the beauty of his unique breed. With a slight turn of his face, Madison struck a pose that captured the elegance and grace of his species.
A memorial commission was undertaken to create a pastel painting of Madison, and the owner and client provided several pictures of their beloved cat, even including a lock of his fur as a reference. Extensive research on the Blue Point Himalaya Breed was conducted to ensure accuracy in capturing Madison’s distinctive characteristics. The client’s discussions about their cherished pet also provided valuable insights.
Based on the approved sketch to scale, the pastel painting was meticulously crafted. The background was intentionally left unpainted, as Madison Blue, as he was fondly called, was the main focus of the artwork. The heavy art paper with its textured surface added depth and dimension to Madison’s fur, truly capturing his magnificence.

Now the horses line up, carriages shiny freshly painted waiting for the man dressed with a top hat in the background to fill the carriages. The carriages have been painted different colors and are slightly different styles to choose from. Summertime gear for the horses is different from the heavier gear they wear in the winter. The lighter straps that show off the shiny fur coats of the horses standing in a line taking a lunch break before the next rush.
There are so many exciting in this busy composition. It is evident in the painting the use stippling in the lush layers of the green trees and the more abstract technique used for the glistening statue. To enhance these features and more I decided to scan the original painting to create a beautiful piece of digital fine art which I then hand-painted with soft and hard pastels to give this work of art it’s own originality. The unique curves and dips of the framing also make this fine art very unique black and gold painting frame.

The original pastel painting captures Summertime in “Central Park South” NYC. This is the time for memories, proposals, love rides together on your horse drawn carriages through Central Park. Now the horses line up, carriages shiny freshly painted waiting for the man dressed with a top hat in the background to fill the carriages with passengers. The carriages have been newly painted different colors and are slightly different styles to choose from. Summertime gear for the horses is different too. The heavier winter gear winter is replaced with the lighter harness straps that show off the shiny fur coats of the horses standing in a line taking a lunch break before the next rush.
Evident in the original Pastel Painting is the technique of stippling I used for the lush layered green trees, the glistening statue uses a more abstract application. The other details of the grey road, buildings, umbrellas, the horses carriages even the people beside the lamp posts waiting their turn, combine for a beautiful complicated composition. Pastel is a medium you can create many different textures. Using soft and hard pastels produces a variety of textures
I wanted to create a smaller more intimate version of this painting and decided to scan by original and using our modern digital technology along with traditional hand-painting with oil paint I created this new Fine Art. The High Quality canvas I chose and hand painted touches of oil paint was key to the success. I vanished the image and it just sparkles. This Miniature, of “Central Park South” NYC Gold Trim with it’s 5 ” Frame is smaller than my original however the wide frame was a perfect choice for this beautiful smaller version.

“Childhood Memories” Family Portrait Painting
“Childhood “Memories” Family Portrait Painting was a commissioned painting. The boy in the yellow shirt studio at a 35 year old man wanted a commission painting in color of a 30 year old, torn, water damaged, sepia tone photograph.
In the original photograph the boy in the yellow shirt his legs were outstretched far out to the right that presented a very asymmetrical pose. He wanted to adjust his legs and feet to a natural childlike position that would add symmetry to the painting.
Since the portrait painting was so faded I asked my client to send family pictures and instead of using pastel sepia tones a muted color scheme was developed to bring my client’s childhood memory to life.
This pastel painting “Childhood Memories” Family Portrait Painting portrays the carefree days of brothers playing within the beautiful landscape of the Grand Cayman Islands.

“Essence of Bacchus”
Just after the clients had commissioned the pet portrait of their beloved Bacchus, the devastating news of his passing came only two days later. Bacchus, who held a cherished place in his owners’ hearts as a loving and happy companion, had succumbed to a brain tumor. This turn of events made the completion of the portrait all the more poignant and challenging.
As the owner recounted Bacchus’s life to the artist, she emphasized that Bacchus was more than just a pet; he was larger than life and had a special place in their hearts. The artist, determined to capture the “Essence of Bacchus,” focused on his expressive eyes and endearing smile, even at the age of thirteen. The goal was to portray Bacchus not just as a pet, but as a beloved family member and canine friend.
To add a sentimental touch, the artist included a baby paw print on the portrait painting before framing it. This small detail added an extra layer of significance to the portrait, making it even more special to the grieving owners. This Memorial Portrait Painting captured a very handsome man of 27 who passed to early in life. His Father commissioned this pastel painting. There were many critiques with his Father for he knew his sons face very well and had precise instructions.
His Father restricted the colors to black, grey and white only. There were baby pictures to work from, a few high school pictures and a high school 1″X1″ picture wearing a white T-shirt. These were all the images to create from. When this “In Memory of” Family Memorial Portrait Painting was finished it was the time we took together that his Father’s deep concentration put into the painting that in the end the whole family was very emotionally happy with the results
The family needed to see their beautiful son every day. The painting was a beautiful memory so this young man’s spirit would carry on.

“Pink Rose”
$5,800.00The delicate “Pink Rose” pastel painting was born from artist L.A. CLINE’s visit to Butchart Gardens Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada, on a sunny summer’s day. Inspired by a beautiful pink rose in full bloom, the artist sought to capture its velvety texture, soft curves, and light freshness on canvas. The result was an original pastel painting that embodied the essence of this exquisite flower.
However, the artist’s creative urge led to the desire to expand and develop a new version of the Pink Rose painting while preserving its essence. To do so, the original pastel painting was scanned that produced a new digital image on cotton acid-free art paper. L.A. CLINE meticulously hand-painted layers of the same pastel colors as the original were added to elaborate on the softness of the colors, while hand-ripped edges gave the art a natural feel. A linen background was also added to enhance the presentation.

“Tender Moment”
$6,000.00These Grevy Zebra’s are very special because of their small striping pattern. Each Grevy Zebra strips are different for every animal much like our finger prints. The other species of Zebras have much wider stripes. This species was give as a gift to Jules Grevy the President of the Third Republic Regime of France in 1882. Hence the beautiful species the Grevy Zebra.
After six hours after studying these incredible creatures this moment happened. Using pastels to create the stripes was a time consuming and intense process that took over five months. Many layers of pastel had to be applied to finally get the crisp lines of the stripes. The pastel pigments had to be built up from medium to dark so that the end color had the underlying layers of color that gave a rich natural look to the finished painting.
The main reason I wanted to paint these magnificent animals was because they are an endangered species. The Grevy Zebra’s nearly 7 feet tall with males weighing 770 to 990 pounds. Every Zebra has their own set of identifying stripes that are individual to each animal and the babies are born a lighter brown color and turn dark when they are about a year old. Their general characteristics are: big heads, long necks, large rounded ears, no markings on their bellies, smaller more delicate striped pattern then any of the other Zebras and a stripe that extends from their head main all the way down to their tails.
Artists now have the opportunity to expand and to create special art using the technology for the digital process and together combining traditional painting methods you can create new originals in different sizes with different looks. Here I have hand-painted this image with layers of pastels to enhance the stripping and depth with added color. There are three in this collection and all were created separately using slightly different colors and different frames so each would be a one of a kind work of art. “The Family Portrait” pastel painting is one of the most beautiful portraits to have. Capturing a time that you can look back at and smile about is what life is all about.
Their little boy was very active running and playing all the time. It was adorable and hard to sketch or keep him still with his parents. Obviously we worked that out by giving him that baseball glove that he loved, Dad was able to hold him for “The Family Portrait”.
I had to do a separate session with the parents to finish the details such as the jewelry and clothing since the most important detail was to have their son looking as cute as is truly was. This family wanted a casual portrait with their son and Dad wearing jeans.

“The Honorable Judge Sidney M. Aronovitz” Memorial Corporate Painting
The Honorable Sidney M. Aronovitz was a United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida for over 20 years and was born in Key West, Florida, on June 20, 1920 passed on January 8, 1997.
The Honorable Sidney M. Aronovitz graduated from Key West High School as Senior Class President and Valedictorian. After Graduating from the University of Florida with High Honors, he served as Captain in the United States Army in Europe from 1943 to 1946, earning the Bronze Star. Following his military service, Sidney Aronovitz practiced law in Miami Florida, for over 30 years. In 1976 President Gerald R. Ford appointed Aronovitz to the Federal Bench, where he served with distinction for the remainder of his life.
The accomplishments of the Honorable Sidney M. Aronovitz were much more far-reaching and exciting than one paragraph can express. This man was such a Devoted Person, Devoted to his Country and his Family.
In 1980 after the “Freedom Flotilla”, there were over 2000 Key West Vessels seized by the Federal Government. These vessels helped Cuban refugees get to the United States under President Jimmy Carters “Open Arms” policy. Judge Aronovitz ordered these vessels released and the cancellation of over 4.6 million in fines that were assessed against the boat owners.
Judge Aronovitz was also selected by the United States Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist to serve on the original United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court from 1988 to 1992.
Judge Aronovitz bravely defended the United States Constitution by protecting the rights of the homeless, women, Cuban refugees and other minorities. Federal Judge Aronovitz was awarded the prestigious Gold Medallion Award by the National Council of Christians and Jews. The Council bestowed their highest honor to Federal Judge Aronovitz for his dedication to the administration of the rule of law without consideration of race, creed or national origin.
Judge Aronovitz gave hours of pro bono legal work and served as a Founder and Member of the Original Board of Directors of the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami. The Honorable Sidney M. Aronovitz was inducted into the University of Florida College of Law Heritage of Leadership Recognition’s Society, and the Judge Sidney M. Aronovitz Memorial Scholarship was established in his honor to help minority students.
These highlights were taken from Biography printed for the day of the Ceremonial Naming of his Courthouse. It is a list of great accomplishments not only as an American who loved his country and his home town but also as the loving Husband, Father and Grand Father and Great Grand Father. He was married over 50 years!
In October of 2009, President Barack Obama signed into a law a bill to rename the U.S. Post Office, Custom House and Courthouse in Key West as the Sidney M. Aronovitz United States Courthouse.
It was truly an honor to have the trust of his loving family to create “The Honorable Sidney M. Aronovitz ” Memorial Portrait Painting which adorns the lobby.

The Library section of Family Law was taken from the renowned law offices of Ruden, McCloskey, Smith, Schuster & Russell while the flags where from a visit to Nova Law School. The Judge was actually standing in his office with a window behind him for his sketch and the background was carefully created around him to complete this very impressive
When working with dark colors of pastel one must be very careful apply the dark colors slowly as not to blend in with the light colors. The red tie and book gave color in the foreground with the books and flags adding color and stature.

The older sister’s favorite pink chiffon hair piece was also incorporated into creating the painting and was the idea for creating the costumes for the painting, as the mother loved the colors pink and lavender.
The portrait was created as per the mother’s request to hang over the stone fireplace in her formal living room, and it became the focal point of the entire room. The painting is an impressive 40″X60″ and was created with a vertical composition to complement the high ceilings of the room, which were approximately 13 feet high. The mother’s desire for a pastel portrait painting of her beautiful daughters was achieved with this remarkable piece of artwork.
Working with the two sisters was a lot of fun for the L.A. CLINE, and their energy and love for dance made the process enjoyable. “Your Honor” Corporate Painting is a legacy painting of former Chief Judge was unveiled November 9, 2009. “Your Honor” Corporate painting was added to an already existing collection as the twelfth portrait of the Third District Court of Appeal Courtroom. The last portrait to be created for this courtroom was in the 1950’s.
The Chief Judge was seated at his desk in a very natural position. In the evening his desk is cleared of all work so when the morning begins everything starts anew. If you look closely at the watch it has a time of 8:30am. This is the start of the day.
There are other very exciting details in this “Your Honor” corporate painting that bring out the personality of the subject. The colors in the tie represent the Florida Gators colors and the hound dog figurine on the desk is a part of an extensive collection. The background is a deep rich palette that gives the painting a sense of bold strength. The subject’s beard and glasses are very modern stylish details.

The Honorable Lawson E Thomas (1898-1989) Memorial Corporate Painting
“The Honorable Lawson E. Thomas” (1898-1989), Memorial Corporate painting that was unveiled, October 13, 2000 at the Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse Center, Miami, Florida.
The Honorable Judge Lawson E. Thomas, born January 28, 1898, was a tireless fighter for human rights. The Honorable Lawson E.Thomas was the only African-American graduate from the University of Michigan’s Law School in 1923. At the graduation dinner he sat alone none of the other graduates would sit with him. The Dean of the school noticed Thomas was alone and sat down with him. Judge Thomas never forgot his “Grand Gesture”.
Sitting with his widow Mrs. Eugenia Thomas, at her kitchen table thinking how dignified and beautiful she was, even in her seventies. We sat for hours talking about their life and looking at a lifetime of family pictures. Her husband was able to achieve so much from such humble beginnings, having worked as a janitor while waiting for notice of his law school graduation. Eugenia Thomas and I had a wonderful afternoon that day and kept in touch every Christmas for many years. Delighted with her approved of her husband’s portrait.
Judge Thomas was the son of an Ocala Florida schoolteacher and his father was a mechanic. Judge Thomas graduated from Florida A & M University in 1919 and received his law degree in 1923. He practiced law in Detroit and Jacksonville before moving to Miami in 1935. He was one of the early leaders of the civil rights movement and represented plaintiffs in lawsuits requiring the registration of African-American voters in Duval County. He fought for the uniformity of the school year length in Broward County, the equalization of teacher’ salaries and the inclusion of African-Americans in jury panels throughout the state. He was a frequent collaborator with Thurgood Marshall and the NAACP during the long fight to roll back segregation and banish Jim Crow.
He retired from the bench in 1961 and returned to private practice until he passed in 1989.

Flower Painting Lavender and Pink
$4,800.00As an artist, I rarely offer my original acrylic abstract flower paintings for purchase. Each piece is unique and holds a special place in my heart, but I am excited to share this particular creation with art enthusiasts. The soft lavender and pink flowers in this painting have been meticulously hand-painted to allow for a smooth and effortless flow of design over the linen canvas.
To achieve the desired effect, I used acrylic paint directly on the canvas without any back color. The composition started with a single lavender flowers and grew organically with the introduction of a second pink color in a diagonal direction. Each shape within the painting is the result of my natural creative process, and the end result is a stunning example of my original art.
This acrylic abstract flower painting is framed with a white wooden shadow box frame, which adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of the artwork. When viewed from certain angles, the lavender hue of the paintings edges reflect off the frame from the surrounding light, enhancing the beauty of the painting even further.
